Eldon Slick was born in New York, raised in Indiana, and has been a resident in Southern California since 1968. He is a self taught painter and metal worker. Annually, he travels to Europe or the South Pacific to search for old airfields and naval sites for painting references. Eldon is especially interested in the factories and personnel that built and maintained wartime aircraft. He is quite focused on the London Blitz and zeitgeist of the war years in England. He has had his works shown in several exhibits and his paintings have been published in many books and magazines. He has recently completed a five-year effort of writing a novel about S/Sgt Leon Freedman, tail gunner in a B-17 which was shot down over the Baltic on April 11, 1944. |
