Luther Gore is a Life Member of ASAA. He sparked interest in forming an association among aviation artists when he staged a forum at the University of Virginia in 1983, where he taught humanities subjects to engineering students. Three years later, ASAA was incorporated by its Founders, and Luther was asked to serve as Executive Secretary, which he did until he retired from that post in 1999. He sponsors an annual recognition award to ASAA members for service to the ASAA. He has four paintings in the Air Force Art Collection, as well as works in several museums, academic settings, and private collections. He has published articles on Henry Farre and aviation art in general in academic and popular magazines. His main interests are in early flight and general aviation. |
