As a boy, flying models hung from the ceiling of his bedroom, and airplane pictures covered the walls. Among those pictures were his own sketches of planes and cars. His boyhood room predicted his life work: a pilot of Martin Mariners in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and Navy service, attendance and graduation from Art Center College in California. (Yes, he contributed to the design of fins on cars.) All the while his interest and involvement in aviation art continued, and as time allowed, he entered art shows, did prints, and some commissions. Now retired, he spends considerable time painting subject of his choice, mostly aircraft.
